Reed Environmental, Inc. was founded in Rochelle, Illinois in 1989 by Leslie Reed, CSP, CIH, in response to a growing call for third party occupational safety and health consulting services. Building on direct experience in safety engineering, industrial hygiene and federal compliance, the initial focus of the company was on comprehensive safety and health management and compliance assistance in manufacturing operations.
Throughout the 90s, the company expanded its traditional industrial hygiene offerings, such as air contaminant, noise, and radiation exposure monitoring, to the evaluation, monitoring and control of emerging risks from poor indoor air quality, bioaerosols, and nanotechnology. Our safety staff also expanded service offerings from broad-based safety management and compliance assistance, to more targeted projects requiring unique expertise in areas as diverse as ergonomics, hazard communication, confined space entry, fire protection, emergency response and lockout/tagout.
The company relocated to Lafayette, Indiana, in the fall of 2000 in order to more effectively service a growing national client base.
